The Only Ketchup We Use!
About a year ago, we switched our ketchup and never looked back. Most people don’t think about ketchup as being something that is bad for you. However, the traditional Heinz ketchup that a lot of you probably use, is LOADED with sugar and other ingredients that are not beneficial to your health!
When is the last time you took a list of the ingredients on the back of Heinz ketchup bottle? Let’s start with the fact that the traditional Heinz ketchup is not organic. Tomatoes are on the list of fruits and vegetables that are often grown with lots of pesticides. You want to go organic with tomatoes whenever possible! On the list of ingredients is HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Check out this video here if you need a refresher course on why HFCS is SO bad for you!!
Heinz now offers a healthier (insert cringe here) version of their traditional ketchup. They call their new version Simply Heinz Tomato Ketchup. What they ‘simply’ did was takeout the High Fructose Corn Syrup and replace it with Cane Sugar. This still leaves both the ketchups at 4g of sugar per serving. And what still remains in both ketchups , is the dreaded NATURAL FLAVORS? Why are natural flavors so bad? They sound healthy right?
Check out some information here on natural flavors and why you want to avoid them!! This is a must read if you are in the majority that have been fooled to think that ‘NATURAL FLAVORS’ are a healthy alternative to ‘ARTIFICAL INGREDIENTS‘ It really is worth taking some time to educate yourself on Natural Flavors. You may be surprised at what you find.
So does this mean no ketchup on your tasty burger ever again? Absolutely not!!! There are awesome alternatives to Heinz out there that are healthy and I am going to share with you my favorite!
